STUA PROJECT
NEW LIFE FOR THE OLD STUA
This project was a source of great pride for us, both for the design side and for the historical value of the materials used.
The stua is originally from Campodolcino, a late 19th century room completely covered in fir from the ceiling to the wainscoting to the floor.
The processes for the realization of this project were:
1 - Dismantling of paneling and ceiling
2- Cataloging of all components
3- Anti-woodworm treatment inside an oven at a maximum temperature of 80°
4- Restoration, rehabilitation and anti-woodworm
5- Waxing
6- Re-adaptation of parts according to project measurements
7- On-site installation
The ceiling was divided into 2 parts and placed in 2 different but communicating rooms, reconstructing the missing perimeter parts and external frames with old non-original wood. The corner entrance wardrobe and a bow window were created with boiserie instead.
Inside the bow window, an original 180cmx260cm ceiling has been refitted with old Swiss pine beams.
The remaining wood was also used to make the bench and the shaped legs, designed and created by us.
The mountain lodge thus acquires a touch of design that recalls the ancient taste given by the coverings and handcrafted furnishing elements in Alpine style; curtains, cushions and fabrics suitable for the mountains complete the chalet and make it exclusive.
